“...But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed. Last night an angel of the God whose I am and whom I serve stood beside me and said, 'Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.' So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.” Acts 27:22-25

In this great story we find the ‘word’ to anchor and stimulate our faith. Storms come to every life. In the storm you need what does not come naturally: courage and faith. Here the Word of God makes clear that even when it appears we may suffer some kind of loss, there is an angel from the Lord to both protect our lives and communicate God’s mind to us. What has God spoken to you? Those powerful words are your assurance that you will come through the severe testing you have been undergoing and that God will bring you into a better place. God never takes us out to take us back. His ways and His plans are always to lead us to higher and better places. The storm, like the fire the three Hebrew children faced, only serves to release from us the bonds of self-dependence, fear, unbelief, and ignorance. We learn to lean into Him, press into the Word of God with great diligence, enlarge the scope of our prayer and most of all dig out our hearing facility. There is no God like our God who leads us to a place where we require His supernatural intervention and then instructs us how we are to receive it. His love for us amazing! His faithfulness to us is boundless! The inside of this test disguises the miracle waiting on the outside...don't let go of your faith…!
